I get asked the same questions a lot — so here are the answers all in one place. If yours isn't here, just get in touch.
Absolutely — and honestly, a lot of my students start off nervous. That's totally normal. I'll never rush you or push you into something you're not ready for. We start on quiet roads, we build up slowly, and before you know it, you're driving without even thinking about it. I've had students who were shaking on lesson one pass their test with flying colours.
Yes, that's most of my students actually! You don't need to know anything before your first lesson — not even how to start the car. I'll walk you through everything: the cockpit drill, the controls, and your first time moving off. It's a lot simpler than people think, especially in an automatic.
Because the clutch is the hardest part of learning for most people, and I'd rather you spent your energy on the road, not on finding the biting point. Take away the gears and suddenly you can focus on observations, positioning, and decision-making. Plus, automatic cars are taking over — most new cars are auto, and electric cars are all automatic anyway.
I cover Chadwell Heath, Goodmayes, Seven Kings, Ilford, Romford, Dagenham, Barking, Gants Hill, Newbury Park, and surrounding East London areas. I'm based near the Goodmayes Test Centre, so I can help you prepare for your test on local routes.
Yes! If you've already passed your test but feel rusty or lack confidence, refresher lessons are a great option. We'll focus on whatever you need — whether it's motorway driving, parking, or just getting back into the swing of things.
Yes, I prepare students for the DVSA practical driving test. We'll work through test standards, practice manoeuvres, and do mock tests on local routes including Goodmayes Test Centre routes. I'll make sure you feel fully prepared and confident on test day.
Everyone learns at their own pace. On average, students need around 20–40 hours of professional tuition to reach test standard, but this varies. I'll give you honest, regular feedback on your progress so you'll know when you're ready. There's no rush — we'll take as long as you need.
I provide a modern automatic car with dual controls for all lessons. You don't need your own car. If you'd like to use your own car for your test, I can advise on the requirements.
I'll pick you up from your chosen location. We'll have a quick chat about your experience and goals, then I'll show you the car controls. We'll start driving in a quiet area — I'll guide you through everything step by step. Most students are surprised at how quickly they feel comfortable!
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may be charged at the full lesson rate. Block bookings can be rescheduled with notice but are non-refundable.
Yes! I offer discounted packages for 5, 10, and 20-hour blocks. This is a great way to save money and commit to regular lessons, which helps you progress faster.
Yes, I hold an enhanced DBS check. Your safety and comfort are my priority. I'm also fully insured for driving tuition and a DVSA-approved ADI.
